The Mekko chart below shows the total points scored by the current top 5 NBA scorers. The width of each column is proportional to the number of points the player scored. The segments show how the points were scored. Steph Curry has a significant lead over the others.
The labels of the segments show the absolute contribution as well as the percent contribution by the specific type of shot. In addition, two data rows are used to show the number of games the player has played as well as the points scored per game.

The Mekko chart (otherwise known as the Marimekko chart) below shows FIFA World Cup finals wins and appearances. The width of the column is proportional to the number of world cup appearances a country has had in the final games. The segments in each column illustrate the number or wins and losses (win percentage). While Germany has one more finals appearance, Brazil has won the cup one more time.
We rotated the column labels to allow the country names to fit neatly. In addition, we use a data row to share the last time the country won the World Cup.

Uber has the largest valuation at $51B closely followed by Xiaomi valued at $46B. This data is from Wall Street Journal and valid as of November 2015. Excludes startups that have gone public.

The Mekko chart or Marimekko chart below shows all the revenue the Star Wars franchise makes across its different product lines. Surprisingly toys and not movies represent the bulk of sales.
The width of each column in the Mekko chart is proportional to the revenue that the product line makes compared to the total sales. Within each column the segment height represents the percent of sales that segment provides to the column/product line. For example, The Phantom Menace represents roughly 20% of all movie sales.
